Dining on Campus

Kline Commons, the main dining facility, offers a variety of nutritious and sustainable selections served in two large dining rooms, meeting rooms, and a faculty dining area. Through the efforts of Bard EATS, a campus program focused on food sustainability and nutrition, more than 20 percent of food purchases at Kline is “Real Food” (meeting local, fair, ecological, and humane standards). Through a continuous service plan, students on the meal plan enjoy the flexibility of dining at the hour of their choice.

Dining Halls and Cafes

  • Kline Commons, the main dining facility, contains a large dining room, smaller alcove dining rooms, meeting rooms, and a faculty dining area.
  • Also located in Kline is the Green Onion Grocer, which serves as the campus market.
  • The Down the Road Café is centrally located in the Bertelsmann Campus Center.
  • The Manor House Café is steps away from the Richard B. Fisher Center for the Performing Arts and features two dining rooms with views of the Catskill Mountains and an outdoor dining terrace.
  • The Bard meal card is also legal tender in the two cafés on campus and at the Green Onion, a campus grocery store.

Meal Plans

FLETs will be enrolled in a 3-meal-a-day plan in our dining commons. Our Traditional Resident plans give each resident a certain number of meals each week at Kline Commons, plus a cache of “Bard Bucks” to spend throughout the semester at the Green Onion Grocer, Down the Road Café and Manor Café. The weekly meal total resets each Friday, and unused meals do not roll over to the next week. Your breakfast, lunch and dinner meals will take place at Kline Commons. You will give your name or show your ID to the attendant at the door and mention that you are a Foreign Language Exchange Tutor.
